Job Description
The Care Training Practitioner is an experienced carer who has undertaken additional training and shadowing to develop the highest level of standards and who can pass on this knowledge to new and less experienced staff. Training and development of the team and bridging the gap between nursing and non nursing staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
All of the usual carer/advanced responsibilities/roles
Induction of new staff
Mentorship of care team
Support and coaching staff to achieve the required standards of care for Fonthill House
Investigation and reporting of incidents where care standards fall below expected levels
Monitoring and management of repeated under performance.
Responsibility for allocating of staff on duty
Oversight of shift - (Running the shift)
Close liaison with nurses regards to clinical observations and changes to patient need
Escalation of concerns to SMT without delay - where changes to allocation/care identified
Additional responsibilities such as audit, ordering and maintenance of equipment
Flexibility and adaptability - willingness to perform care in all roles and remains willing to move with in the company to suit the needs of the patients and the business.

Qualification/Person Specification
Compliance with mandatory and statutory training requirements (essential)
NVQ in health & Social Care (desirable)
Care certificate (essential)
18 months experience in general Fonthill care roles (desirable)
Completion of competency requirements (essential)
Medication training (essential)
Knowledge of emergency procedures (essential)
Teaching and assessing qualification (desirable)
