Why is this role important and how does it fit into the team, department and wider firm?

Our growing Construction team wants to further develop its precedents for non-contentious work to support its drive to continually improve efficiency, quality and consistency.

What does the role actually involve?

Update our existing precedents
Create new precedents
Gather and incorporate client-specific precedent requirements
Create drafting notes for each precedent
Person specification
What technical skills are required for someone to be successful and enjoy the role?

Experienced senior solicitor with extensive experience in non-contentious construction work
Excellent technical legal knowledge and legal drafting skills, with ability to write complex information readably.
Who would be a good fit for his role?

As part of the Knowledge Management department, and working closely throughout this project with the Construction team, you would be expected to have the following skills and experience:

Take ownership of driving this project throughout, from scoping, gathering the information and documents, drafting, refining and delivering.
Consultative with fee earners, able to discuss technical legal and best practice issues at all levels.
Open to understanding specific fee earner needs and preferences and working with the Knowledge Management department to meet those in a firmwide scalable, holistic way.
Experience working as a PDL would be desirable, but not essential.
