What youll do
We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join our team. You will be working in a fast moving environment developing embedded devices for use in our industrial IoT systems. These include edge devices for facilitating low-latency processing of a wide range of technologies, including depth cameras, LiDAR, BLE and RFID as well as higher level control devices.
We are looking for someone with extensive experience of industrial-scale hardware design, throughout the full product life-cycle. You should have extensive knowledge of digital electronics and at least working knowledge of product design lifecycle, qualification and verification methods.
You will be responsible for leading the design of a range of edge devices that are used at scale, in truly unique and exciting projects.
Some experience with wireless technologies would be an advantage as well as wired protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI and CAN. Ideally you'll also have experience in engineering management or leadership roles within an engineering team.
You will be based in our purpose-built R&D facility in the heart of rural Warwickshire, which is situated on an old farm that overlooks countryside. With this in mind, a driving license is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Detailed concept design, schematic capture and simulation
Generating roadmaps and timelines to ensure projects are feasible before in-depth design development begins
Tracking and reviewing deliverable progress to ensure projects move forward in a timely manner
Ensuring Products are correctly Certified and Homologated for the relevant global market
Guiding a small team of 3-4 Hardware Engineers (Electronic/Electrical/Test)
Leading internal design and test strategy reviews
Possible scope for customer-facing interaction
Requirements and Specification Management at a System level from an Electronic and Electrical perspective
Working with various operating units within the organisation, ensuring that technical engineering principles are adhered to and standards are upheld
Liaising with Project Management teams to ensure tasks are allocated with correct priorities
Essential Experience
Extensive experience of digital and analogue circuit design
Electrical System and Architecture Design in a highly regulated industry e.g. Defense, Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial
Proven experience taking application-ready concepts through to large-scale production
In-depth knowledge and/or experience of EMC test requirements and design methods
Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management on large production-intent projects and products
Experience working with wired communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet
Relevant Engineering Degree
Desirable Experience
Experience working with Power Electronics
Awareness of High-Voltage and Alternating Current design requirements
Awareness of Agile project management
Experience working with wireless technologies
Knowledge of new wireless technologies such as passive UWB-based asset tracking
