The role is suitable for an individual who is looking to take ownership of various aspects within the company whilst supporting its growth phase.
The Finance and Operations Manager is required to always maintain strict confidentiality and sustain a high level of professionalism among staff and third parties.
Flexibility is a must for this role, as the company operates in various countries around the world and team members may be required to work outside of office hours on occasion. Domestic and International travel may also be required.
Core responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Operations
Produce the companys monthly management accounts and maintain the integrity of the information held within the accounting system
Carry out monthly stock reconciliations and quarterly stock counts
Calculate and process quarterly VAT returns
Provide analytical information to CEO in preparation for internal and external meetings
Carry out daily bank reconciliations
Manage bank payments
Budgeting and Forecasting
Work alongside the CEO and departments to prepare the annual budget
Update the rolling P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecasts
Update the companys financial model
Review and implement cost saving and profit/productivity optimisation strategies
Operations
Spearhead the implementations of new Project Management and Customer Service systems
Project manage and oversee ongoing business endeavours
Write minutes of daily sales stand-ups and other meetings when required
Review and manage the companys monthly subscriptions
Oversee the logistics process
Liaise with clients, colleagues, suppliers and other third parties
Manage the companys Insurance policies
Process, prepare and disseminate corporate documents
Carry out routine HR duties
Oversee the management of the office (note that every team member shares responsibility for the management of the office)
Closely shadow the CEO in various non-financial aspects of her role
Key Competencies
To be successful in applying, you should be able to demonstrate:
Sound understanding of double-entry accounting
Newly or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent experience (note that experience overrides qualifications)
Intermediate-Advanced excel skills necessary to update or build financial models
Flawless communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Excellent telephone manner
The ability to manage competing tasks and prioritise an ever-changing workload
The ability to work under pressure whilst reaching deadlines and maintaining accuracy
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
The ability to work autonomously, flexible and adaptable
Strong business and commercial acumen
The ability to build relationships at all levels across the business and with third parties
Must be prepared to work outside of normal office hours and weekends on occasions
