Homecare Assistant

The role involves driving to clients across Blackburn, Clitheroe, Rishton, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, and Barnoldswick. Full training provided; a valid driving licence is required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support with mobility and transfers to help clients move safely around their home
  • Help with meal preparation and light household chores to maintain a clean and comfortable environment
  • Administer medication as per care plans and monitor health conditions
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to supervisors
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities, ensuring safe transportation
  • Follow care plans meticulously to meet individual needs and preferences
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care

Shift Hours

  • AM – 07:00-14:00 – Morning and lunch calls
  • PM – 15:00-22:00 – Teas and beds
  • Work across: Blackburn, Clitheroe, Rishton, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Barnoldswick

Requirements

  • Valid driving licence
  • Experience in care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
