Homecare Assistant
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] East Lancashire is seeking a compassionate Homecare Assistant to provide personal care, mobility support, meal preparation, medication administration, and companionship to clients in their own homes. The role involves driving to clients across Blackburn, Clitheroe, Rishton, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, and Barnoldswick. Full training provided; a valid driving licence is required.

Role & Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transfers to help clients move safely around their home
- Help with meal preparation and light household chores to maintain a clean and comfortable environment
- Administer medication as per care plans and monitor health conditions
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to supervisors
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities, ensuring safe transportation
- Follow care plans meticulously to meet individual needs and preferences
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Shift Hours
- AM – 07:00-14:00 – Morning and lunch calls
- PM – 15:00-22:00 – Teas and beds
- Work across: Blackburn, Clitheroe, Rishton, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Barnoldswick
Requirements
- Valid driving licence
- Experience in care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
