[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a skilled Systems and Network Administrator to manage, support, and optimise IT infrastructure within a VFX production environment. This on-site role is based in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Server and Network Management: Administer, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers and networking infrastructure.
  • Systems Support: Provide hands-on support for technical issues across hardware, software, and network resources.
  • Storage and Backup Solutions: Manage data storage and backup systems, ensuring compliance and secure recovery.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security protocols, firewalls, and data protection measures.
  • Software and Licensing Management: Oversee installation, configuration, and updates of critical software.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues to minimise downtime.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear documentation for system configurations and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with artists, producers, and the IT team.

Qualifications & Desirable Skills

  • 3+ years of systems administration experience, ideally in VFX or media production.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Hands-on experience with Pixit GPFS storage systems.
  • Familiarity with network management and security best practices.
  • Problem-solving mindset, excellent communication, and organisational skills.
