[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a skilled Systems and Network Administrator to manage, support, and optimise IT infrastructure within a VFX production environment. This on-site role is based in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Server and Network Management: Administer, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers and networking infrastructure.
- Systems Support: Provide hands-on support for technical issues across hardware, software, and network resources.
- Storage and Backup Solutions: Manage data storage and backup systems, ensuring compliance and secure recovery.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security protocols, firewalls, and data protection measures.
- Software and Licensing Management: Oversee installation, configuration, and updates of critical software.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues to minimise downtime.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear documentation for system configurations and procedures.
- Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with artists, producers, and the IT team.
Qualifications & Desirable Skills
- 3+ years of systems administration experience, ideally in VFX or media production.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Hands-on experience with Pixit GPFS storage systems.
- Familiarity with network management and security best practices.
- Problem-solving mindset, excellent communication, and organisational skills.
