Mid-Level Compositor

Position Overview

As a Mid-Level Compositor, you will play a pivotal role in producing high-quality visual effects, collaborating across different departments to bring visions to life. Your expertise in compositing, attention to detail, and artistic sensibility will contribute to the success of our diverse range of projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with VFX Supervisors, Leads, and fellow compositors to ensure the seamless integration of CG elements, live-action footage, and special effects into cohesive and visually compelling shots.
• Apply advanced compositing techniques, including but not limited to colour correction, tracking, matte painting, rotoscoping, and multi-pass compositing, to achieve the desired look and realism for shots.
• Utilise Nuke to deliver high-quality results that meet project requirements and artistic guidelines.
• Independently manage complex shots, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and address technical and artistic challenges.
• Provide creative input and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the overall quality of shots and visual effects sequences.
• Collaborate with different departments, including lighting, modelling, and texturing, to ensure effective asset integration and achieve consistent visual aesthetics.
• Participate in reviews and feedback sessions, iterating on shots to achieve the desired artistic and technical standards while meeting project deadlines.
• Maintain organised file structures and adhere to naming conventions to ensure efficient data management and streamlined collaboration within the team.

About You

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Animation, Visual Effects, Computer Graphics, or related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a compositor in the visual effects industry.
• Proficiency in Nuke
• Strong understanding of 3D software (e.g., Maya) and experience integrating 3D elements into compositing.
• Exceptional eye for detail, colour, lighting, and composition, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality visual results.
• Solid understanding of compositing techniques, including green screen keying, motion tracking, and advanced matte painting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical and artistic challenges independently.
• A demo reel showcasing your mid-level compositing work or relevant projects is required.
