Business Development Manager

This pivotal role combines lead generation, market research, and opportunity management with creative marketing and communications expertise. You’ll be at the heart of building relationships, managing our CRM, and ensuring our brand shines across platforms.

Responsibilities
Lead Generation
- Conduct bi-weekly checks of UK production news sources
- Perform weekly reviews of a curated list of key global and UK studios’ projects in development.
Opportunity Management
- Collaborate with the business development team to create systems for maintaining client relationships and identifying new contacts.
- Establish a process to review unsuccessful projects to identify improvement areas.
- Standardise the inclusion of tailored pitch decks alongside bids.
- Share weekly business development round-up emails on Fridays.
- Participate in weekly business development/marketing communications meetings.
- Attend monthly business development meetings with leadership to provide updates on incoming shows.
- Create a handover document template for new projects to ensure a smooth transition to production teams.
CRM Management
- Keep the CRM system updated with accurate project and contact information.
- Assign appropriate owners for each new show and contact.
- Conduct desktop research to enhance lead data in the CRM.
- Run weekly one-on-one sessions with VFX supervisors to ensure CRM accuracy.
- Clean outdated contacts and leads from the CRM.
- Collaborate with Zoho to optimise CRM functionalities for improved follow-ups and tracking.
Updates & Reports
- Generate weekly progress reports for Monday senior leadership team meetings.
- Develop a standard template for monthly board reports.
- Hold regular meetings with the Business Development Manager to review progress.
Client Meetings & Events
- Coordinate logistics for client meetings, including scheduling, preparing materials, and conducting background research.
- Attend meetings to document notes, action points, and update the CRM.
- Organize and attend industry events, such as NFTS galas and UK Screen Alliance dinners.
- Maintain an event schedule and ensure representation at key industry gatherings.
- Track award entry deadlines and coordinate submissions.

Social Media
- Collaborate with team members to draft and post important announcements on social media platforms.
- Establish a bi-weekly posting schedule for Instagram and LinkedIn to showcase [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] work.
Public Relations (PR)
- Draft press releases under the oversight of the Business Development Director and Group Managing Director.
- Manage interview requests and schedule interviews with appropriate team members.
- Maintain a log of interviews, articles, and requests to track media engagements.
- Cultivate relationships with relevant media outlets, such as UK Screen Alliance, VFX Voice, and Televisual.
- Arrange PR training sessions for supervisors as needed.
Website Management
- Review and approve news articles for the company website.
- Enhance the team page with additional filters and updated headshots.
- Continuously improve website content, including copy and visuals, for better engagement.
