Prison Officer - HMP Liverpool Futures

This role involves working at HMP Full Sutton for the first 23 months, then transferring permanently to HMP Liverpool. Starting salary £33,746 per year (37 hours) plus accommodation allowance and benefits.

Job Description

As a Prison Officer at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will protect the public and make a positive impact on prisoners' lives. You will work directly with prisoners, building constructive relationships and maintaining safety. No two shifts are the same – you may act as a peacekeeper, counsellor, or teacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage with prisoners to support rehabilitation
  • Maintain order and security within the prison
  • Work various shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Complete 23-month deployment at HMP Full Sutton before returning to HMP Liverpool

Pay and Benefits

  • Starting salary: £33,746 per year (37 hours) at HMP Full Sutton
  • Accommodation costs paid up to £750 per month for 23 months
  • Monthly trip home cost reimbursed
  • Recruitment and retention bonus £1,500 after 12 months and again at 23 months
  • 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 after 10 years), plus public holidays
  • Civil Service pension up to 20% of salary
