- Business Unit: Multiple HMP prisons across the UK (e.g., Aylesbury, Belmarsh, Birmingham, etc.)
- Working time: Full Time, Part Time, Job Share, Flexible Working
- Job type: 2 Year Fixed Term Appointment (with option to convert to permanency after 12 months)
- Grade: AO
- Salary: £33,746 - £39,525 per year (plus market supplements for some prisons)
- Benefits: 25 days holiday (rising to 30 after 10 years), Civil Service pension (employer contribution 28.97%), cycle to work scheme, travel loans
- Sponsorship: Skilled Worker visa sponsorship may be available (subject to eligibility)
About the Role
Prison officers protect the public and help make an impact on prisoners' lives. In this unique career, you'll carry out many roles: peacekeeper, counsellor, teacher. You'll work directly with prisoners in a secure environment, building constructive relationships and supporting rehabilitation. The role requires shift work including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
