Job Description
Job Title & Grade: Senior Information Assurance Officer - SEO
Contract Type: Detached Duty & Loan (2 years)
The [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), responsible for administering the legal aid fund. The role sits within the CARS team (Health & Safety, Information & Data Security, Business Continuity, Risk and Secretariat).
You will play a key role in ensuring that projects and initiatives across the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] meet government security standards and data protection requirements. Provide advice to project teams on information security and data protection, work with stakeholders on Secure by Design solutions, and manage information risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision of expert advice on Data Protection Legislation, Secure by Design principles and information risk management.
- Risk assessments and controls advice for senior leadership.
- Close working with security stakeholders across MoJ.
- Supporting incident management processes.
- Supporting wider security practices (physical, personnel, cyber).
- Driving process improvements for compliance.
- Developing and delivering training on data protection and security topics.
- Travel to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] sites across England and Wales.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Essential: Recognised qualification in information security or security risk management.
- Experience of risk management in a security context.
- Experience of delivering security assessments against a recognised standard.
- Experience of system or process improvement for security posture.
Desirable: Knowledge of Secure by Design principles and assessment experience.
