Proud to serve. Proud to keep justice going. Our Support Officers play a critical role, providing excellent customer service and administrative support to court and tribunal users, judiciary and management.

Your role: Working as part of a team, you will contribute to operational targets, progress cases through the court system, provide customer service and administrative support. Duties include:

  • Preparing papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings including processing sensitive information.
  • Creating and updating records digitally.
  • Communicating with the public, judiciary, court users and representatives.
  • First point of contact for court users, including vulnerable witnesses.
  • Prepare court/hearing rooms and ensure efficient court running.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Customer service skills.
  • Digital and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Confident communication in person, telephone, digitally and in writing.
  • Resilience and empathy for sensitive situations.
  • Team player, collaborative and flexible.

Additional Information

Location: Hull Combined Court, Lowgate, Hull, HU1 2EZ. Occasional travel to Hull Magistrates and Beverley Magistrates required. This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas. Hybrid working (60% office). Full-time 37 hours per week; part-time considered (minimum 30 hours). Benefits include 25 days annual leave, pension, training, and employee networks.
