Job Description

The [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] (MoJ) is seeking a Receptionist to work within the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] (PS) Directorate in HMPPS. This role provides reception duties and administrative support, acting as the first point of contact for visitors and telephone callers. The post holder will also handle logistics, health and safety, and case administration as needed. Hybrid working is available.

Responsibilities, Activities & Duties

  • Greet people on probation and visitors professionally, log arrivals, issue passes.
  • Use tact and diplomacy to diffuse potentially violent situations.
  • Answer enquiries about the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and local support services.
  • Manage mail, PPE, stationery, meeting room bookings, and car parking.
  • Handle bus fares, travel warrants, and petty cash.
  • Assist with health and safety, fire alarms, CCTV, and act as Fire Warden/First Aider.
  • Log building faults and escort contractors.
  • Support case administration including data entry, scanning, and archiving.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Essential: GCSE A*-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Desirable: IT qualification (ECDL/CLAIT) or equivalent experience.
