[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group are working closely with a specialist niche Insurer who are looking to hire a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter focusing on existing business risks with premiums ranging up to £500k.

Location: Birmingham | Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Job Description

You’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio, managing renewals with premiums ranging from £5,000 to £500,000 and beyond. You’ll handle some of their most interesting risks and valued customers, ensuring seamless mid-term servicing. As a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter, you’ll also play a key part in mentoring and coaching team members, conducting audits, and collaborating with commercial partners. You’ll work closely with various stakeholders and referral points within the business, contributing to a dynamic and high-performing underwriting team. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, negotiate, and profitably underwrite existing business caseload within your own authority in line with commercial strategy.
  • Deliver underwriting excellence through specialist knowledge and support.
  • Act as referral point for the team providing coaching, training and support for colleagues including supporting lesser experienced members of the team with their broker engagement and underwriting development.
  • Play an active part in the insurance market building and maintaining commercial relationships and developing your own brand as the underwriter of choice for broker partners.

Requirements

To be considered you will need to have a strong level of property and casualty underwriting experience. Candidates will be considered either currently at Senior level looking for a new challenge or experienced Underwriter level candidates looking for a step up to senior level.
