What to expect

• Learn on the job with skilled craft and engineering professionals who maintain our hydro assets, building essential practical engineering skills.
• Support daily operations, help troubleshoot electrical faults and contribute ideas that improve how our sites run.
• Develop specialist knowledge in electrical engineering, setting you up for a long‑term career in this field.
• Blend classroom and on‑site learning throughout the programme. Some training will take place via block release in Fife, where you’ll stay away from home for several weeks — your travel and accommodation are fully covered.
• Gain an industry‑recognised qualification: a Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering – Asset Lifecycle and Maintenance, preparing you to join our Hydro Operations team working on the largest fleet of hydro‑electric power assets in Scotland.

• Proactive and resilient — ready to use your initiative in a fast‑moving sector.
• A fast learner — curious, eager to grow and happy collaborating with others.
• Safety‑focused — living our principle: “If it’s not safe, we don’t do it.”
• Comfortable working outdoors — in all weather, helping to keep power flowing.
• Working towards your driving licence — not needed at the start, but a full UK licence is expected by programme completion.
