Construction Automation Technician
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Construction Automation Technician to join the Customer Delivery team within the South East Power Distribution business. This role involves installation, maintenance, and commissioning of remotely controlled switchgear and associated equipment on the 11kV electrical distribution network.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation schemes across the network.
- Monitoring and supervising contractors throughout the region.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on automation equipment from multiple manufacturers.
- Maintaining and installing automation-related electrical equipment on the 11kV network, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of all tasks.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in full compliance with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
- Knowledge of the automation currently installed and a keenness to learn and develop.
- Operational authorisations CAT 1,2,4,5, and 7.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g., CAT 4E, CAT 7, automation installations) if required.
