FULL DESCRIPTION

Project Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Project Manager for the SSEN Transmission Offshore team. This role is based in Inverness (preferred) or other Scottish locations with hybrid working. You will lead the civil engineering package for the Western Isles HVDC Link project, focusing on underground cabling and enabling works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of the underground cable civil engineering package
  • Champion strong safety and environmental culture, ensuring CDM compliance
  • Develop and maintain robust package programmes with budget control and forecasting
  • Manage contractor and supplier performance from procurement to close‑out
  • Manage consents, stakeholder interfaces, and proactively control risks and opportunities

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience delivering civil engineering works, ideally within linear infrastructure or HV/EHV cable projects
  • Good knowledge of underground cable route civil construction methods and interfaces
  • Working knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental requirements including CDM Regulations
  • Experience with NEC3 (or similar) contractual arrangements
  • Strong capability in programme planning, risk management and performance reporting
