Dance Teacher - Ballet Specialist
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a part-time, permanent Dance Teacher - Ballet Specialist to teach RAD Ballet across a wide range of levels from Nursery to higher grades. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting school productions, and contributing to the co-curricular programme. Candidates must hold relevant RAD Ballet teaching qualifications and have experience working with students aged 3–18.
Job Purpose
- To positively contribute to the Dance programme at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] by inspiring and extending girls and boys of all ages and abilities.
- Provide an outstanding student experience through high‑quality teaching, learning and coaching, enabling all students to maximise their potential.
- Teach RAD Ballet across a wide range of levels, from Nursery through to higher grades, supporting progression through the RAD syllabus and examinations where appropriate.
- Develop wider participation in ballet and support the promotion of dance within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].
Main Duties
- Support the day‑to‑day running of dance activities as part of the Performing Arts faculty, including school events, lessons, assemblies and productions.
- Teach Ballet at various levels following the RAD syllabus, offering classes suitable for both examination and non‑examination routes.
- Deliver engaging ballet lessons that nurture technique, artistry and confidence in students from ages 3–18.
- Participate actively in the school’s co‑curricular programme by offering additional ballet opportunities such as clubs, rehearsals, workshops or extension classes.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Performing Arts and Head of Dance to produce high‑quality ballet performances and support whole‑school productions.
- Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met in the daily use of performance and rehearsal spaces, regularly reviewing procedures and proposing improvements where necessary.
- Liaise professionally with parents regarding ballet lessons, uniform, examinations, performances and timetables.
Whole School Responsibilities
- Communicate with subject staff, other tutors, and the School’s safeguarding group with regards to the safeguarding of students.

Additional Duties
To undertake such additional duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the level of responsibility within the College. The post-holder will undertake assigned duties and responsibilities, ensuring that all actions are discharged within the regulatory and legislative requirements to which the College is subject.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant RAD Ballet teaching qualifications.
- Previous experience teaching RAD Ballet across a wide age range.
- Experience working with students aged 3–18.
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of the RAD Ballet syllabus and pedagogical approach.
- Demonstrates outstanding classroom and studio practice, capable of inspiring pupils with imaginative teaching and learning.
- Understanding of effective pastoral care alongside safeguarding and child protection issues.
- Knowledge of teaching children and young people of varied ages and abilities.
Skills and Abilities
