Position Overview

The Finance & Accounting Manager plays an important role not only in supporting core accounting operations and financial reporting, but also in driving process improvement and automation within the Finance team. By actively identifying and implementing enhancements to financial workflows and systems, this position helps optimize efficiency, reduce manual effort, and increase accuracy across accounting processes. The manager's contributions to process improvement are essential for maintaining robust financial controls and supporting the firm's continued growth in a competitive market. This individual will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting, while prioritizing opportunities to automate tasks, streamline workflows, and strengthen financial visibility. As the firm expands, the Finance & Accounting Manager's leadership in process improvement and automation will be vital to scaling operations and achieving long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate processes, and enhance system integrations. Support ongoing improvements in financial reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Financial Analysis Support: Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking activities.
  • General Accounting & Reporting: A/P, A/R, payroll and commission management. Assist in the preparation of financial statements. Support accrual schedules and tracking across various expense categories. Bank and credit card reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain compliance with internal controls and applicable financial regulations.
  • Audit, Tax & Compliance Support: Assist with external audits. Support tax preparation activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar preferred).
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with interest in process improvement.

  • Accurate and timely completion of month-end close and financial reporting.
