Decontamination Nurse

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a reliable and detail-focused Dental Decontamination Assistant. This part-time role on Thursdays and Fridays supports patient safety through instrument decontamination and sterilisation.

  • Pay: £10.85 - £13.00 per hour
  • Location: Southampton, Hampshire, SO31 8BR

The Role

An essential role supporting patient safety by ensuring all dental instruments are correctly decontaminated, sterilised, and ready for use.

What you’ll do:

  • Clean, sterilise, and manage dental instruments
  • Follow strict infection control protocols (HTM 01-05)
  • Maintain high hygiene and safety standards
  • Support efficient instrument flow throughout the practice

Support to Clinical Team

  • Assisting with instrument turnaround
  • Helping prepare trays when required
  • Reporting any issues with instruments or sterilisation processes

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail (essential for patient safety)
  • Good understanding of hygiene and infection control
  • Ability to follow protocols precisely
  • Good organisation and time management
  • Reliable team player
