[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a User Engagement & Project Manager (PRUK). This is a permanent, remote role based in the UK with a salary of £54,000 - 57,000 per year. Applications close 13 May 2026.

Purpose of the post

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] requires the services of an experienced User Engagement and Project Manager to support the development and uptake of a Population Research Gateway in collaboration with Population Research UK. The portal will be a unified, scalable, and researcher-centric discovery platform that re-uses, adapts, and extends the modular open-source codebase and infrastructure of the Health Data Research Gateway to serve the UK’s longitudinal population-study (LPS) ecosystem. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team that develops interoperable infrastructure ensuring UK LPS data assets are FAIR and accessible for research, innovation and clinical trials.

Main responsibilities

  • User Engagement: Act as the primary interface between technical teams, researchers, data custodians, and stakeholders; lead user discovery activities; champion user-centred design; facilitate feedback loops; support stakeholder communication.
  • Project Management: Manage end-to-end delivery using Agile framework; maintain backlogs; track risks and milestones; coordinate cross-functional teams; ensure documentation.
  • Scientific expertise: Apply knowledge of longitudinal population studies and health data ecosystems; support harmonisation and standardisation of cohort metadata; contribute to FAIR data principles adoption.
  • Capacity building: Support onboarding of datasets, cohorts, and data custodians; develop guidance materials and training; build capability in partner organisations.
  • Community and Engagement: Build relationships across the UK LPS community; organise workshops and events; advocate for the platform; collaborate with Population Research UK.
