About the Internship
This fully-funded internship funded by the Wellcome Trust is taking place in summer 2024, where all interns will receive:
- The Real Living Wage (£12/hour), plus holiday pay and NI contributions
- Up to £1,500 towards travel and accommodation if required
- Up to £500 towards materials and equipment costs
- A mentor
- Training on health data skills from [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] academics
There are four positions available, with Northumbria University, University of Cumbria and University of Newcastle. More details on the internship programme, projects available, application dates and application form are shown on our webpage below.
Eligibility and Prioritisation
Whilst the internship is open to eligible candidates, we are prioritising applications from individuals who are underrepresented within health data research. This includes:
- First generation to attend university
- Care-experienced (looked after person)
- Carer (unpaid care)
- Government refugee or asylum seeker
- Clinically diagnosed disability
- Eligible for Free School Meals
We will also encourage applications from those studying at non-Russell Group universities.
