Job summary
This post is funded as part of the HDR UK Inflammation and Immunity Driver Programme, which seeks to transform the UK’s capabilities to improve understanding of mechanisms and health outcomes, using respiratory and allergic disorders as exemplar domains.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and carry out their own work within the driver programme, to ultimately plan and lead a high-quality programme of research in inflammation and immunity using electronic healthcare records. In addition, they will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research funding.
Duties and responsibilities
- Deliver research activities against project objectives
- Develop and apply for own funding
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals
- Attend and present work at international conferences
- Supervise postgraduate students and undergraduate research projects
Essential requirements
- A PhD in epidemiology or statistics involving the use of electronic healthcare record data or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of respiratory epidemiology and use of UK electronic healthcare records from multiple sources, including the CVD-COVID-IMPACT Consortium data and to have published in this field.
Further information
This position is full-time and fixed-term for two years and will be based at Imperial’s White City Campus.
