Deputy Director, DARE UK

Purpose and Responsibilities

Reporting to the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Director, the Deputy Director is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping and delivering the programme's next phase of impact. Main responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Co-develop and evolve the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] strategy, roadmap and future phases.
  • Programme Delivery and Oversight: Lead end-to-end delivery, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and outcomes.
  • Stakeholder and Community Leadership: Build relationships across UKRI councils, academia, government, and public contributors.
  • People and Organisational Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team and foster a high-performance culture.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Senior leadership experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale programmes.
  • Experience with executive teams and Boards.
  • Strong strategic thinking and programme governance skills.
  • Excellent communication and line management experience.

Desirable: Knowledge of Trusted Research Environments, sensitive data research, and the UK data research landscape.
