Technology Team Product Owner

Purpose of the Post

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] requires the services of an experienced Product Owner to work within its technology team. You will work across a range of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] technical solutions including the Health Data Research Gateway, the Disease Atlas, Researcher Registry, Phenotype Library, and Cohort Discovery. This is a highly visible and senior role, leading key areas of product development. The successful candidate will manage a fast-paced pipeline, building partnerships with the NHS, industry and academic groups, and develop software and infrastructure that streamlines access to health data for research.

Main Responsibilities

• Drive successful development and adoption of technical solutions using stakeholder feedback, user insights, and metrics to achieve KPIs.
• Lead definition of strategy, roadmap, features and stories for the technical portfolio, working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder priorities aligned to product releases and provide clarity on release planning.
• Define end-to-end user journeys and build feature roadmaps.
• Work with software vendors and partners to incorporate requirements into their roadmaps.
• Demonstrate functionality to a range of research users and support them with product utilization.
• Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of products and define acceptance criteria.
• Document product features, manuals, and promotional materials.
• Line and career management of a small team of Business Analysts and UX/UI Designers.
• Support drafting of data governance and Data Protection Impact Assessment documents.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A leader with experience gained in a large complex organisation.
• Minimum five years in a Product Owner role in industry or equivalent project management in health data technology.
• Demonstrable success in delivering multiple concurrent programmes of work.
• Experience working with development partners and building long-term partnerships.
• Understanding of technical complexity for feasibility and prioritisation.
• Passion for user-centred design.
• Experience in agile methodologies and tools (Confluence, JIRA, Trello).
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and make decisions.
