FULL DESCRIPTION

Front End Software Developer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] ([Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]) - Flexible UK location (Hybrid) | Full Time, Fixed Term until March 2025 | Salary: £60,000 - £75,000

Deadline: 9 July 2024 – 5:00PM

Purpose of the post

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] requires the services of an experienced Front End Software Developer to work on a pioneering project for Researcher Passporting and verification in partnership with many organisations across the UK. The successful candidate will be expected to work within the Gateway agile software development team, providing development leadership and hands on implementation of key functionality and new concepts, primarily focused on the front-end aspects of the product. SPeeDI-AS (Safe People Digital Identity Attribute Service) is a new standard being developed with data providers, to significantly reduce the time to access data after request, by providing all relevant researcher information at the start and allowing a truly informed decision to be made.

Working alongside our partners, we'll be developing a common model standard that outlines the foundational criteria of proving researchers are 'Safe People', and developing a system that allows researchers to create a Passport for themselves or their organisation that builds an immutable history of their work and experience. Combined with existing authentication methods, institutes would issue encrypted claims to grant access, ensuring the entire process is seamless.

  • Development of frontend software within a single scrum team
  • Implementation of features across frontend aspects of the Researcher Registry system
  • Working with Solution Architect and Technical Programme Director on new technology concepts

  • Team work expectations
    • Working with the Technical Programme Director and Senior Technical Programme Manager as part of the leadership team
    • Collaboration with senior [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] members, technology teams and external technical partners, standards bodies

Key contacts / relationships: The successful candidate will need to work collaboratively across [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s internal organization and software design and development team. They will also be expected to co-work and collaborate externally with 3rd party system integrators, software vendors, infrastructure providers, standards bodies and end-users which include both researchers and data custodians across industry and academia.
