Programme Support Officer - Governance

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Programme Support Officer - Governance. Remote UK, Permanent, £36,000-£42,000 per year.

Purpose of the post

This is an exciting new role providing an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to use and enhance their project management, organisational and communication skills, to support the Information Governance team in coordinating initiatives to harmonise and streamline data governance processes in the UK and beyond, with the aim of fostering trust and transparency.

Main responsibilities

  • Successfully planning and delivering stakeholder workshops, meetings, and events involving multiple organisations. Requires attendance for at least two meetings in London per year.
  • Providing updates on team workstreams, including producing PowerPoint presentations and a quarterly newsletter to stakeholders.
  • Disseminating [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s innovative work on health data governance, including drafting and contributing to blogs, bulletins, articles and other publications, and regularly updating webpages.
  • Coordinating funding calls and management of project timelines.
  • Supporting partners to adopt best practice in data governance including with overcoming challenges that have the potential to block or slow down research.
  • Engaging partners across the health data landscape and wider communities to develop and define best practice including resources and materials that can be adapted and re-used.
  • Working closely with our Public Involvement and Engagement (PIE) team to involve and engage members of the public, including [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Public Advisory Board, in the use of health data for research and data governance.
  • Developing a strong network of working relationships with stakeholders within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].
  • Working with internal teams and external partners to horizon scan for opportunities to share successes that help raise the profile of our work.
  • Work flexibly to support colleagues as needed, adapting to an evolving environment and emerging priorities.

Experience

  • Experience of facilitating meetings and delivering presentations.
  • Experience of organising and managing successful events, including managing external suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience of planning, running and evaluating activities.
  • Success in running several projects at once to similar timeframes with conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent experience in collaborating across teams and/or organisations to help create and co-deliver shared goals.
  • Experience of working on diverse projects with stakeholders from different disciplines and appreciation for differences between working practices and regulatory regimes.

Some or all of the following experience would also be beneficial: Experience working in the health data sector; Working knowledge of GDPR; Experience in project management with an ability to apply management principles and processes and proactively manage risk; Experience of involving in research and/or communicating with patients and members of the public; Experience of defining and documenting project requirements from multiple stakeholders.
