Purpose of the post
The Finance Analyst will play a crucial role within the Finance team, assisting colleagues in Financial Planning and Analysis by providing timely and accurate reporting and analysis. They will take charge of creating monthly management accounts for both our Senior Leadership Team and various teams and departments. The Finance Analyst will also collaborate with other members of the Finance team to ensure that these reports offer valuable insights and thorough analysis. The Finance Analyst will actively engage in enhancing and fine-tuning our financial reports, models, and costing tools to keep pace with the organisation’s ongoing evolution. Main responsibilities
- Utilise JET Reports to generate monthly management accounts for our Senior Leadership Team and Budget Holders, ensuring their accuracy and timely delivery to the appropriate finance colleague.
- Collaborate with the broader Finance team to aid in journal processing, which includes regular monthly allocation and recharge journals.
- Support the delivery of the forecasting and budgeting cycle through importing and exporting data into our core finance system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and checking this is accurate and complete.
- Collaborate with Finance colleagues during month-end and quarter-end, so that these processes are joined up and the deliverables are produced to time and quality.
- Support the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis with the development and maintenance of complex, multi- year financial models.
- Provide training and advice to individuals internal and external to the Finance department.
- Support the wider Finance team with the development and maintenance costing tools for internal budgets and external grants and bids.
- Support projects and new process development to continuously improve and evolve our approach to internal financial reporting.
- Support the Finance Business Partnering function with ad hoc reports and grant management and reporting.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- CCAB qualified or part qualified, or with a minimum of 4 years practical experience in financial operations or reporting roles.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts.
- Ability to interpret complex data and apply problem solving techniques.
- Ability to support a number of different colleagues at the same time with their reporting needs, managing competing priorities.
- Attention to detail and a focus on quality in the outputs that are produced.
- Service oriented and comfortable continuously developing and refining processes and reporting.
- Works with others as one team, actively listening and collaborating to achieve a shared vision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with people at all levels.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non- finance stakeholders.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
