Role Summary

The Year 2 class Teacher will guide students in the principles of Islam, covering topics such as Fiqh, Sīrah, Ahadīth, ‘Aqā’id, Tārīkh, with a primary focus on learning to read the Arabic alphabet with tajweed. Children will also be taught general manners, simple duas and surahs. The role involves creating a fun and inspiring learning environment that nurtures spiritual growth, and creates a deep, lifelong connection to their faith.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Qa’idah with Tajweed
  • Plan & teach Islamic studies class based on our textbook ‘An-Nasihah Book 1’
  • Teach Surahs & Duas in accordance to our year 2 curriculum.
  • Attend trainings & CPD sessions during class time and on the weekend (paid).

Qualifications and Requirements

  • ✅ English speaking (UK born preferably)
  • ✅ Fluent in Tajweed and with good grasp of Makhārij (pronunciation)
  • ✅ Excellent class control and time management
  • ✅ Knows foundational rulings and has basic understanding of Hanafi Fiqh
  • ✅ Tech Proficiency: Competence with using educational technology

Desirable/Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualified ‘Alim/ ‘Alimah
  • Qualified Hafidth / Hāfidthah
  • Previous teaching experience. Experience is not a must as training will be given, however any experience is welcome.
  • Knowledge of teaching methodology
