Teacher of PSHE/RSE

Permanent Contract, Part-time (19 hours/week), starting 1st September 2025

Salary: From £38,770 per annum

Job Overview

The PSHE/RSE teacher will work within the Wellbeing team across the age range of the school. The role involves preparing, developing and teaching clearly structured lessons; liaising with primary schools; leading the PSHE/RSE committee; and undertaking safeguarding duties.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare, develop and teach clearly structured lessons that interest and motivate pupils in Collège and Lycée.
  • Liaise and monitor curriculum materials across the four primary schools.
  • Make learning objectives clear, using interactive teaching methods and collaborative group work.
  • Have high expectations and build successful relationships centered on teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with teaching, support, external agencies and parent teams.
  • Establish a purposeful learning environment where diversity is valued and pupils feel safe.
  • Lead the PSHE/RSE committee twice per year.
  • Review the PSHE/RSE policy annually.
  • Establish links with university providers.
  • Undertake level 3 safeguarding training and be part of the Safeguarding team.
  • Ensure pupil voice informs the PSHE/RSE curriculum.

Main Tasks

  • Set challenging teaching and learning objectives.
  • Plan lessons and sequences of work showing how pupils’ learning/progress will be assessed.
  • Produce long, medium, and short term planning.
  • Select and prepare resources considering pupils’ interests, learning needs, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Plan for the deployment of support staff.
  • Contribute to Wellbeing team meetings and events.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all ability ranges.
  • Manage teaching and learning time effectively.
  • Actively track pupils’ progress and devise strategies to address underachievement.
  • Develop pupils' literacy, numeracy, and thinking skills.
  • Use monitoring and assessment information to improve planning and teaching.
  • Provide immediate and constructive feedback.
  • Involve pupils in reflecting on and improving their performance.
  • Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression.
  • Develop strategies for cross-curricular delivery.
  • Manage resources and make recommendations.
  • Ensure effective communication with parents/carers and staff.
  • Be proactive in safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
  • Ensure behaviour management according to school rules.
  • Play a full part in the life of the school community.
  • Attend all relevant meetings.
  • Undertake any other duties as specified by the Headteacher.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of PSHE/RSE curriculum planning and delivery.
  • English speaker with at least a good understanding of French.
  • Experience of teaching in an international environment.
  • Drive and determination to achieve the best possible outcome for every pupil.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, etc.) and learning technology.
  • Committed approach to teamwork.
  • Professional curiosity with ability to reflect and engage in CPD.

Additional Information

Working hours: 19 hours per week (19/19)

Monthly gross salary: From £38,770 per annum (incl. all allowance). Employer contribution to private healthcare.
