[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Participation and Stewardship Officer. This is a fixed term contract, hybrid role based UK wide, with a salary range of £33,500 - £36,500 per annum.

Participation and Stewardship Officer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Participation and Stewardship Officer for a 12-month fixed term contract. The role involves embedding lived experience participation in the organization's work, stewarding networks, and providing administrative support. Hybrid working from London, Glasgow, or Shipley offices.

  • Contract type: Fixed Term (12 months)
  • Full time: 34.5 hours per week
  • Location: Hybrid between home and our London, Glasgow or Shipley offices. The requirement to come into the office is once a month, in addition to quarterly team away days and occasional project-based travel across the UK.
  • Salary Range: £33,500 - £36,500 per annum

About the role

As a Participation and Stewardship Officer, you will support the Communities and Participation team in embedding the participation of people with lived experience of cancer in [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s work and decision-making, aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives. You will provide inclusive stewardship to networks and communities, acting as a welcoming and supportive point of contact for people living with cancer who are engaged in [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s work. You will also act as an initial point of contact for internal [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] teams and external stakeholders, ensuring that all enquiries are managed in a timely and supportive manner.

Working alongside our other Participation and Stewardship Officers and the wider team, you will assist with the design of participation programmes and provide administrative support with a focus on stewardship to provide high-quality and accessible participatory activities. You will deliver a well-administered and responsive participation experience for people living with cancer, ensuring GDPR-compliant data management. You will develop and maintain systems to manage [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s lived experience participation networks and ensure effective, accessible management of up-to-date documents, resources, tools, and templates for colleagues. You will work with the Communities and Participation leadership team to shape and maintain effective team management tools and processes and support with the continuous improvement of the participant experience.

About you

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and develop professional working relationships, building trust quickly with internal and external stakeholders and particularly people living with cancer.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR legislation.
  • Experience of stewarding participation and involvement activity for people with access or other requirements.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel, power point), web-based solutions and databases.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapting priorities with the flexibility to meet a variety of deadlines.
  • Organisational and planning skills, strong attention to detail and process driven.
  • Practical experience of delivering excellent customer experience to internal and external stakeholders.
