Environment & Sustainability Officer
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring an [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] for a 5-month fixed-term contract based in Chelmsford. Hybrid work. Join a dynamic civil engineering company with 30 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement carbon reduction plan and promote activities across all [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] contracts.
- Collate and analyse environmental data using in-house carbon calculator.
- Attend client meetings to report on KPIs including carbon footprint, waste, and material use.
- Keep environmental legal register updated and prepare for legislation changes.
- Assist in design and delivery of Environment & Sustainability training and policies.
- Support external audits including CCS, ISO 14001, PAS 2080; conduct site inspections and internal audits.
- Work with site teams to manage hazardous/non-hazardous waste and COSHH compliance.
- Assist with bid submissions, tendering, and supplier evaluations.
What We're Looking For
- Mandatory: Degree in relevant field or industry experience; environmental/sustainability role experience; strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Desirable: Knowledge of construction legislation; waste management certification; strong communication; passion for sustainability; willingness to travel.
