Business Development Manager- Cables & Connectivity

Job Purpose Summary

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in increasing sales and enhancing brand awareness for the Cables and Datacentre Product Portfolio in the UK market. A primary focus of this role will be expanding our customer base for cables and connectivity whilst driving new vendor sales within existing [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] customers. Your responsibilities will centre on growing cables, connectivity, and datacentre brands across key customer pillars, including VAR/MSP, Installers, electrical wholesalers, independent retail and etail. You will work closely with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] sales teams to identify opportunities, maximise product breadth, and drive sell-out initiatives. Success in this role requires building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring collaboration between [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams. Developing strategic relationships with vendors and customers will be a key priority. You will be responsible for achieving KPIs aligned with both vendor and company business strategies while continuously developing your expertise to effectively promote solutions to customers. A strong understanding of the distribution go-to-market strategy is essential, along with the ability to position products effectively within customer pillars. An integral part of this role will involve actively engaging with both new and existing customers. You will use a variety of communication methods, including face-to-face meetings, phone calls, social media, email, and video conferencing, to build relationships and drive sales. Manage pipeline and provide weekly business forecasts in collaboration with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] sales teams and customers. Propose quarterly and annual sales targets per sales team/territory for the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Sales Budget. Develop and execute Strategic Business Plans, ensuring quarterly objectives and KPIs are met.

Role Responsibilities

  • Create and implement growth plans with key customers and channels to drive incremental business.
  • Develop initiatives to increase traffic and sales through the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] E-Commerce Platform.
  • Provide training and coaching to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and customer sales teams, enabling them to effectively promote the product portfolio.
  • Clearly communicate [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’ value proposition and strategy to differentiate it from competitors.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service, ensuring [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] remains a key and valued supplier.
  • Drive new product launches and promotions for key product lines in collaboration with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] marketing, sales, vendors, and support teams.

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Sales or Product Management role
  • A track record of exceeding targets and generating new opportunities
  • Experience in Product/Vendor Management at vendor, reseller, or distributor level.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively face-to-face and remotely.
  • Professional, mature, and responsible attitude towards the role
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various functional areas, including Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Support.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Proactive and self-motivated and able to take initiative and thrive in a dynamic sales environment.
  • Commercial awareness with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Confident in delivering presentations to both customers and internal teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
