About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Assistant Manager. Permanent role with a shift rota (8:00am–4:30pm or 1:00pm–9:30pm, including weekends). Salary £14.56p/h - £28,392. Location: Skelmersdale, WN8.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise daily tasks, delegate effectively, manage training, holidays, absences, and rota planning, conduct team meetings, provide coaching.
- Process Management: Ensure procedures for receiving/inspecting/storing goods, adhere to GPhC and MHRA regulations, coordinate transport between sites, optimize warehouse space, monitor WMS records, support inventory control.
- Facility & Safety: Adhere to health and safety guidelines, report hazards, maintain clean environment, promote safety culture.
- Compliance & Documentation: Check goods against delivery notes, inspect for damage/expiry, maintain documentation, handle controlled drugs and temperature-controlled items, support audits.
- Communication & Collaboration: Communicate with drivers, suppliers, and teams, provide performance updates, collaborate with team leaders.
About You
Experienced and proactive team leader with strong people-management skills. Solid understanding of warehouse processes, WMS, and regulatory compliance (GPhC/MHRA desirable).
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Warehousing and Storage (desirable)
- Forklift truck licence (desirable)
- Proven leadership experience in logistics/warehouse
- Knowledge of GPhC and MHRA requirements (desirable)
