About the Role

We are hiring exceptional Children’s Residential Support Workers to care for children and young people in a residential setting in Merseyside. Responsibilities

You will support children within a residential care environment. Your role will include building trusting relationships, promoting routines and life skills, supporting with emotional regulation and managing behaviours with consistency and care. This is a full time position.

This is a secure accommodation with education for young people aged 10 up to their 18th birthday. It consists of secure living areas with a shared education facility.

You will be required to support with:

  • Self-Harm
  • Alcohol and Substance misuse
  • Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Missing from Care
  • De-escalation and management of physically challenging behaviours.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of full-time care experience in the past 3 years, including 3 months with children or young people
  • Be able to attend a 4 day FREE PRICE course Monday-Thursday 9-4.30
  • SUPPORTWORK - SM must be signed off for OFSTED
  • A Level 3 qualification in children’s services (or willingness to work towards one)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • A commitment to delivering care that is respectful, empathetic and team-focused
  • Experience working with highly challenging behaviours
  • Advantage - Experience in working in a children's secure unit
