Job Description
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to lead the delivery of Asset Replacement work within our Cable Engineering Services contract with Northern Powergrid. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery of asset replacement projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations for Asset Replacement works, ensuring delivery to specification, on time and within budget.
- Lead and manage a team of Field Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers and Site Operatives.
- Act as the main operational contact with Northern Powergrid, maintaining strong client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all HSQE policies, procedures and legal requirements.
- Manage multiple projects from planning through to energisation and handover.
- Plan and allocate labour, plant and materials to meet project demands.
- Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement across contract performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation, including RAMS and as-built records.
- Liaise with local authorities, subcontractors and stakeholders to support delivery.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in a senior operational role within cable installation, utilities or power distribution.
- Strong knowledge of LV/HV cable networks, ideally within a DNO environment.
- Understanding of Asset Replacement processes in a regulated utility setting.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong client and stakeholder management abilities.
- Good commercial awareness and contract management experience.
- NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on Northern Powergrid contracts.
- Streetworks knowledge.
- Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
