Senior Educational Psychologist

Location: Kettering, United Kingdom | Salary: £63,394 to £66,748 plus SPAs | Contract: Full Time | Closing Date: 25 May, 2026

About the role

The successful candidate will work alongside committed professionals to maintain high standards, leading on developing and co-producing a strategy for relational approaches and trauma informed practice. The role involves delivering psychological services through consultation, working with children, parents, carers, schools, early years providers, and partner agencies.

What will you be doing?

  • Contribute leadership and psychological consultation to the local authority, especially regarding current priorities.
  • Manage and give professional support and supervision to the area team of educational psychologists.
  • Act as representative of the Principal Educational Psychologist.
  • Decide on appropriate form of area response to requests for service involvement, including critical incidents.
  • Manage delivery of Psychological Services to the locality area.
  • Provide generic work for up to 40% of time alongside management and leadership duties.

About you

  • Honours Degree in Psychology or equivalent giving Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society.
  • Significant experience of working with children and young people.
  • Successfully completed post graduate professional training as an educational psychologist recognised by the Health & Care Professions Council.
  • Significant experience as an Educational Psychologist and experience of managing professionals or projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the statutory framework guiding educational psychologists.
  • Demonstrable commitment to maximise educational achievement and inclusion.
  • Leadership skills and ability to provide support and challenge.
