Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year (per annum pro rata)

Contract: Fixed term for 12 months, Full-time

Main duties of the job

This is a senior physiotherapist post requiring significant post graduate experience. The post holder will be responsible for rapid response, advanced assessment & treatment of complex and/or chronic presentations and will provide highly specialist advice for patients within the hospital and community setting and teaching and training to therapy colleagues working in other clinical areas, and members of the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for supervision and training of other therapy staff including rotational band 5 staff, Therapy assistants and students. The post holder will also undertake a co-ordinating role in the delivery of the therapy service within their specific clinical area on a day-to-day basis and this will include the provision of a 7-day therapy service in our clinical specialities.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications & Education (Essential): Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy; HCPC registered
  • Knowledge and Training (Essential): Significant post qualification experience in clinical area relevant to post; Evidence of post graduate training in specialist clinical area; Have an understanding of developments within the NHS and the Trust, and their implication on Physiotherapy
  • Experience (Essential): Clinical experience at band 5 in core areas of respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurology and orthopaedics
  • Communication & Relationship Skills (Essential): Able to delegate appropriately; Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally, in a good clear and logical manner including good standard of documentation in application
  • Analytical & Judgement Skills (Essential): Demonstrate understanding of the governance framework and relevance to clinical practice; Able to work as an autonomous practitioner in a defined clinical area and support others
  • Planning & Organisational Skills (Essential): Evidence of leadership skills; Demonstrates evidence of effective self-management including time, prioritisation, clinical caseload and demanding situations
