Job summary

This is the opportunity to apply for a FTC for 12 months (secondments will also be considered) to manage the MHTR service. The Mental Health Treatment Requirement service has been provided within the trust for the last 12 months so is still in its infancy. We are looking for a team manager to work alongside the clinical lead and service manager to be responsible and accountable for the operational service delivery. The role will involve working across the criminal justice system and in close collaboration with probation, and the judiciary. Previous experience of working in a multi agency way is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

  • Be responsible for the management of MHTR resources to deliver services which meet the required financial performance and quality standards, working effectively with the Local Delivery Unit management team as required.
  • To provide professional leadership and supervise team members within the Service.
  • Participate in service design and quality improvement.
  • Monitor performance and quality standards for the Service i.e. training, complaints, compliments, carer/user satisfaction surveys, Serious Incidents,
  • Work within the budget to implement the Service and agreed targets.
  • Standardise and sustain results/procedures

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of vulnerabilities.
  • Substantial experience of working at a senior clinical level.
  • Providing clinical supervision and managing staff.

Desirable

  • Substantial leadership experience within forensic mental health.
  • Budget management.
  • Setting up or working within a new service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A professional mental health qualification to degree level or equivalent
  • Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care Staff

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism
  • Management qualification
