Salary: £12.79 an hour

Contract: Permanent

Job Summary

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for a motivated individual with excellent interpersonal & communication skills to join our Prescription team. Previous experience in an NHS clinical setting preferred but not essential. The relevant training will be provided. This role will be working with a driven and knowledgeable team to provide amazing service to our patients in a timely manner. Full training and a structured induction will be provided.

Main Duties

  • Process repeat medication requests using surgery protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Action repeat medication requests received via patients and pharmacies in paper format throughout the day
  • Collect paper repeat prescription requests from post box and reception regularly
  • Action repeat medication requests via SystmOne online services
  • Action repeat medication requests via email from pharmacies
  • Liaise with patients, chemists, and hospital teams regarding queries and medication changes
  • Record medication hospital-only drugs correctly as per protocols
  • Check medication due dates, synchronise repeats, and action required drug monitoring bloods
  • Run searches and reports to identify patients on particular drugs
  • Contact patients and book appointments for medication reviews

Job Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Prescription Clerk to join [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. This fast-paced, dynamic role involves acting as the focal point of communication between clinicians, patients, local pharmacies and the hospital to ensure patients' repeat medication is processed. Strong organisational skills, positive confident communication, and proven coordination experience are required.

Duties include the main duties listed above, plus communication, analysis, planning, patient care, service development, people management, IT system use (SystmOne, Team Net, Word, Excel, Access), surveys, autonomy, equality and diversity, health and safety, confidentiality, quality improvement, learning and development, collaborative working, and service delivery as per practice policies.
