Job Summary

The trust is seeking a Full time (10PA) Speciality Doctor to work within the Older Peoples Care Unit at Kingsmill Hospital. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a major provider of specialist mental health services for older people in Nottingham City and the wider county.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients
  • To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively
  • To participate in annual appraisal
  • To attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust
  • To maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council
  • To participate annually in a job plan review
  • To work with local managers and professional colleagues
  • To provide high quality evidence-based senior medical care

Job Responsibilities

The dementia inpatient unit (Kingfisher Ward) is a 15 bedded assessment unit based at Blossomwood mental health unit. The post holder will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, clerk new admissions, assess mental and physical states, and liaise with colleagues.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential: MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Desirable: MRCPsych, additional clinical qualifications

Eligibility

  • Essential: Fully registered with GMC with licence to practice, 3 years' experience in Psychiatry

Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent knowledge in specialty, clinical skills, communication, ability to manage complexity

Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning

  • Able to deliver teaching, work in team, commitment to improvement
