Children's Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Children's Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. The closing date is 19 May 2026. Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year pro rata (term time only). Contract: Fixed term for 10 months, part-time, term time hours.
Job summary
Fantastic opportunity to work as part of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Children's Speech and Language Therapy team. 4.5 days, term time only role working as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. Opportunities may be available across a wide range of settings including special schools, mainstream schools. This position may involve working across a range of needs and ages, supporting children and their families at universal, targeted and specialist levels through the Balanced System approach.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will hold a Degree/Masters level qualification or equivalent and be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. They will also be registered as a Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC.
- Experience of working with children as a Speech and Language Therapist in settings such as community clinics, child development teams, mainstream or special schools.
- Good grasp of the SEND Code of Practice, universal, targeted and specialist approaches.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously.

Experience (Essential)
- Experience of working as part of a children's therapy team and multidisciplinary team.
Education & Qualifications (Essential)
- HCPC and RCSLT
- Degree in SALT
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio
Knowledge (Essential)
- Specialist clinical skills across a range of SLCN
- Understanding of legal responsibilities of the profession
- Knowledge of working in community therapy services and paediatric services
- Knowledge of legislation relating to children, e.g. SEND, safeguarding
