Domestic Assistant

Job Summary

Domestic Assistant - Band 2 Day shifts - Monday - Friday 15.00 - 21.00 30 hours per week. We currently have Vacancies for Domestic Assistants to work as part of the Domestic Team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] at Stepping Hill Hospital. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people to join our current 204 strong team, who have a passion for delivering a quality cleaning/ decontamination service.

As this is a public facing service we are seeking individuals who enjoy customer interaction and have the ability to react to a changing and sometimes challenging environment. Our service covers wards, department and office areas across the site.

Important Notice on Visa Sponsorship Eligibility – This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Health and Care Worker visa route due to the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annum and/or the required skill level.

Main Duties of the Job

• General cleaning within the hospital environment, including clinical and patient areas such as the emergency department, Theatres, wards, non-clinical areas.
• Provide a high quality responsive, efficient and effective patient support service to wards and departments within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] acting in a caring and professional manner.
• Ensure National Cleaning Standards are met.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications (Desirable)

• Good standard of general education
• NVQ 1 in cleaning, customer and support services or equivalent experience

Knowledge (Essential)

• Awareness of safe working practices
• Awareness of different cleaning methods
• Good personal hygiene practices
• Ability to follow a set of instructions / programme of work

Knowledge (Desirable)

• Use of cleaning equipment including vacuums, steam cleaners, buffing machines, scrubber driers, carpet cleaning machines
• Understand how to prevent the spread of infections
• Safe use of cleaning chemicals

Experience (Desirable)

• Previous experience in similar working environment

Skills & Abilities (Essential)

• Ability to complete task on time
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to manage own workload
• Demonstrate good customer service skills
• Ability to work as part of a team or alone
