Salary: £26,227.50 - £27,378 a year (pro rata for part time)
Contract: Permanent, Part-time

Job Summary
Mental Health Support Worker, Young People at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] in Fixby, Huddersfield. Part time 20 hours per week.
Main Duties of the Job
- Flexibility - Work shifts including weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Must be able to attend training held on weekdays.
- Good written skills and ability to write basic reports and record information accurately.
- Basic IT skills (computer work, online care system, emails).
- Good verbal communication and listening skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Remain calm in emergencies, supporting others in difficult situations.
Desirable Criteria
- Full UK Driving Licence
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Care
- Previous experience with young people with mental health needs.

Job Description

Your role involves working with young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks, and life skills. You will update online care records and complete medication administration. You will work with young people with mental health diagnoses including personality disorder, eating difficulties, and self-harm. You'll support them to improve their relationship with food, manage self-harm incidents, and prepare for independent living (e.g., self-administer medication, access education/public transport). The home is a 5-bed service in a wooded area near Huddersfield with scenic walks and grounds. Previous care experience is not essential; full training provided.
