Salary: £25,760 - £27,476 a year (pro rata)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time/Part-time/Flexible working

Job Summary
As a Materials Controller you will be responsible for facilitating the purchasing and replenishment of stock across the Trust. Activities will include visiting theatres/wards/clinics across the entire campus to conduct stock counts to raise orders, picking goods from the stores, receipting and putting away the stock in the different locations within the Trust. If successful you will be added to a centralised pool for 6 months. During this time an allocation will be sourced for you. Please note after 6 months you will be removed and subsequently withdrawn if an allocation cannot be confirmed for you.
Main Duties
Alongside facilitating receiving of NHS Supply chain deliveries and direct purchase orders from suppliers, the Team Leader will instil best practice amongst colleagues. You must have good attention to detail for daily stock counts, analytical skills for demand forecasting alongside strong interpersonal skills as you will be the interface between the Procurement & Supply Chain department and our clinical users across the Trust. You will provide excellent customer service to end-users, in person and via electronic communication and where required scheduling urgent deliveries.

Person Specification - Essential Skills & Experience
- Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- General work experience dealing with people in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of working in and alongside multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience of customer service in related or similar environments
- Experience of working at various heights using a ladder or lift
- Experience of working within a Stock Control, Purchase, supply / logistics environment
- Experience of Supply Chain stock control or purchasing/supply
- Manual Handling techniques
- Knowledge of Customer Service
- Be able to take inventory and general stock taking
- Understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Must be computer literate
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own time
- Flexible to work on a 24/7 rostered basis
- Able to adapt and assist across the department as operational needs arise
- The ability to understand and behave according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
