Job summary
Here at Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC), we are an inclusive and dedicated organisation working to provide excellent dental care to our entitled personnel! We are searching for a professional, motivated Band 7 Dental Technician to join our supportive and friendly teams at Defence Centre for Rehabilitative Dentistry (DCRD), dental laboratory, Aldershot. Main duties of the job
The Dental Technician is required to provide support to a consultant led multi-disciplinary team. As a key member of the team, the post-holder will require knowledge and experience of treatment planning to provide close support of technical services in the delivery of bespoke treatment plans. The post holder will require advanced skills in restorative dental technology, and a good knowledge of all disciplines within dental technology to deliver, maintain and develop a high-quality technical service for prosthetic and restorative rehabilitation of service personnel through complex oral-facial appliances.

Job responsibilities
- The production of dental prostheses, including tooth and implant-supported restorations.
- Maintain a high-quality service and keeping up to date with developments that will improve the quality of the laboratory service delivered.
- To be competent in the use of specialist laboratory equipment and to be able to provide in-house training on such equipment, to ensure safe sub-ordinate operation.
- To act as a lead and initial point of contact for the subordinate members of the laboratory team regarding all aspects of laboratory service delivery.
- Engage in regular mandatory training, appraisal, incident reporting and clinical audit.
- Presentation of audit within appropriate forum, such as Practice Meetings, as required.
Person Specification
Registration and Memberships
Essential: General Dental Council (GDC) registration number.
Qualifications
Essential: Qualified Dental Technician with GDC registration.
Experience
Essential: Strong knowledge of dental materials, techniques, digital workflows, dental implants and ceramic layering techniques. Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology and digital dentistry. Desirable: Knowledge of removable partial and complete dentures and orthodontic appliances.
