Job Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic full-time B6 Domiciliary Physiotherapist, to join the integrated Redditch and Bromsgrove Neighbourhood Teams. The role involves delivering both planned and urgent physiotherapy interventions to the local adult population. You will contribute to high quality patient care and future development of the teams. Opportunities for personal and professional development, clinical supervision from a Band 7 Clinical Lead and B6 colleagues, and student mentorship are available.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Undertake physiotherapeutic assessments and treatment of patients with highly complex and acute/chronic presentation, determining clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatments as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate care in partnership with MDT colleagues and lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of rehabilitation programmes.
  • Clinical responsibility for a designated caseload, organising/triaging efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assessment of patients via routine and urgent referral.
  • Comprehensive assessment and diagnosis including highly complex presentations using investigative and analytical skills.
  • Assess patient understanding of physiotherapy intervention and work within legal framework for patients lacking capacity.
  • Contribute to education and training of physiotherapists, healthcare professionals, students, carers, and assistants; contribute to CPD of the MDT.
  • Formulate individualised management and treatment plans using clinical reasoning and a range of treatment skills.
  • Train, supervise and performance-manage more junior staff, technical instructors, assistants and students.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection procedures.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential: Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy, HPC registration, Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD maintained in portfolio.

Desirable: Relevant validated clinical course, Clinical Educators qualification, Post graduate training relevant to clinical area.

Knowledge

Essential: Excellent knowledge of physiotherapy in relevant areas, Awareness of audit, Awareness of research processes.

Desirable: Experience of Community Care and Rapid Response style care, Managing service development programme projects, Management, leadership and supervisory skills.

Skills & Abilities

Essential: Excellent clinical assessment, intervention and evaluation skills; ability to communicate clearly in English; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; collaboration within MDT; ability to pass on skills/knowledge through training; good computer literacy; ability to maintain judgement under pressure; application of health and safety policies.

Desirable: Knowledge of complex manual handling techniques and risk assessments; experience of audit.

Experience

Essential: Minimum 2 years post graduate experience including work in a variety of specialities; experience of supervision of junior staff or students; experience of delegation.

Desirable: Junior rotations in core specialist areas of physiotherapy; experience at Band 6.
