Early Years Educator
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced, qualified Early Years Educator to serve as a Room Lead at First Steps Nursery, based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in Exeter. This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with a salary of £25,760 to £27,476 a year (pro rata). Closing date: 21 May 2026.
Job Summary
About First Steps Nursery: Our nursery provides childcare provision only to colleagues working at the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. Set on our Wonford site in a purpose-built, spacious building with generous outdoor spaces, we provide fun, play, and learning for children from 3 months to 5 years old. We are proud of our Ofsted Outstanding Provider rating. Our mission is to ensure children’s wellbeing and development is central to all we do, promoting learning in a fun, stimulating, language-rich environment.
Main Duties
As a Room Lead, Early Years Educator, you will use your creative flair and organisational skills to support your team in delivering a brilliant programme of fun, inclusive learning activities. Key duties include:
- Be part of the team that creates a nurturing environment and delivers high standards of care and education
- Plan, implement, and evaluate activities to support the care and development of children
- Regularly update records regarding children's progress and care, feeding back to parents/carers
- Encourage best practices and the development of staff knowledge and skills
- Ensure safeguarding standards are maintained
- Support to all other Childcare Services provision as required
About You
We’d love to hear from experienced, organised, and passionate qualified Early Years Educators, looking to progress or already in a Room Lead role. You are great with people of all ages, especially children, and keen to pursue professional development. A DBS check will be required (costs covered).
