Finance Apprentice
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a dedicated and detail focused Finance & Procurement Apprentice to join its Finance and Procurement Teams. This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to develop core financial and administrative skills while working towards a recognised qualification.
- Salary: £25,272 a year

Main duties of the job
- Assist with monthly accruals and prepayments
- Support completion of financial period end activities
- Contribute to maintaining accurate financial forecasts
- Involved in preparation of annual budgets
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Produce monthly financial reports including variance analysis
- Raise sales orders for accurate billing
- Maintain high standards of data quality

Job responsibilities
Job Purpose
The post holder will provide support to the Finance and Procurement teams who provide Financial and Procurement support to operational managers. The role will include monthly accruals/pre-payments, maintain a financial forecast and assist in the setting of annual budget. It will also include supporting the Accounts Payables and Receivables team providing cover during leave and busy periods.
This will ensure the timely and accurate budgetary control for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] finances. The post holder will support the team to produce and issue financial reports on a monthly basis with key variance analysis, trends, end of year forecasts, and recommend actions required to ensure effective use of resources.
They will support the raising of sales orders in a timely manner to ensure that contractual income is accurate and billed in a timely manner to support [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s cash position.
There is a strong focus on data quality, and delivering continuous improvement in processes and services provided.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the financial management team with preparation of accruals and prepayment journals
- Assist management accountants to reconcile payroll transactions
- Provide assistance with recharges
- Assist in raising sales orders
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Reconcile budgeted establishments with ESR systems
- Support the annual budget setting process
- Assist in budget holder meetings
- Resolve queries from Budget Managers
- Analyse postings to the ledger
- Work co-operatively across the finance function
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures
- Complete year end tasks
- Provide backing information for audits
- Support Accounts Payable and Receivables teams
- Assist with year end and audit preparation
- Support the Procurement team
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Essential: GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Desirable: Educated to intermediate AAT level or equivalent
