Salary: £11,000 a session (yearly)

Contract Type: Fixed term (12 months), Part-time

Job Summary

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team on a 12-month fixed term contract from August 2026, to provide maternity leave cover. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for 5 to 6 sessions per week within a well-established and forward-thinking practice committed to delivering high quality patient care.

Sessions available: The post will include 2 sessions on a Thursday, 2 sessions on a Friday, and the remaining 1 to 2 sessions can be worked on a Monday and/or Tuesday.

Main Duties of the Job

The postholder will provide a full range of general practice services, including routine and urgent consultations, assessment and management of acute and chronic medical conditions, home visits where required, prescribing, clinical administration, and appropriate referral and follow-up of patients. The role will involve working collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care, while maintaining accurate clinical records and supporting the day-to-day clinical needs of the practice.

Our team is comprised of experienced professionals, including GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Practice Nurses, and our invaluable Reception and Admin team.

Job Responsibilities

To provide high quality general medical services as part of the GP team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], including the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions, prescribing, referrals, clinical administration, and home visits where required. The postholder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and responsive care for the practice population.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential)

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC and licensed to practise
  • Included on the NHS Performers List
  • MRCGP or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in UK general practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to high quality, patient-centred care
  • Good clinical decision-making and organisational skills
  • Competent IT and clinical record-keeping skills
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Previous experience in a salaried GP role
  • Experience of managing a broad range of acute and chronic conditions in primary care
  • Understanding of current NHS general practice priorities and workload
  • Experience of working with SystmOne
  • Interest in teaching, training or service development
